Student Bursaries

The Volcanic and Magmatic Studies Group awards bursaries for student researchers from the VMSG community. We welcome applications for travel funding to assist doctoral researchers who wish to present their work at a conference/workshop or carry out fieldwork for their research.
Bursaries are awarded up to a maximum of £500.

| 20th June | 1st August of the same year – 31st July of the following year |
| 1st December | 1st February of the following year – 31st January of the subsequent year |
The bursary schemes are intended to support students who are active members of the VMSG community. To be eligible for an award, you must be a research student, must have presented (talk or poster) at a VMSG annual meeting, and have not been previously awarded monies from the scheme. Please see the application form below for further eligibility details.
Application is via EMAIL ONLY to the VMSG Bursary Officer. Applications received by any other means, after the deadline, or deemed otherwise incomplete will be discounted from the current round of awards. No applications will be carried forward to later rounds. Please read the conditions of eligibility carefully before submitting your application. The application form can be downloaded below.
