What is VMSG?

The Volcanic and Magmatic Studies Group is a joint special interest group of the Mineralogical Society of Great Britain and Ireland, and the Geological Society of London. We are the main hub for the UK community of igneous, volcanic and magmatic scientists.

Anyone from undergraduate level to professor level who has an interest in volcanic and magmatic studies.

How do I apply for a fieldwork or conference bursary?

We offer a number of student bursaries each year – you can find all the details on our student bursaries page. Deadlines are the 1st of June and 1st of December each year.

Where have past VMSG meetings taken place?

When is the next VMSG meeting?

January 7 – 9, 2020, in Plymouth.

What is the abstract deadline for the next VMSG meeting?

The 22nd November 2019 for the Plymouth 2020 meeting.

What else does the VMSG do?
